People misrepresent the 2012 finals. Because it ended in 5,
people assume the entire series was a mismatch, but it really wasn’t. The heat
battled to a split in OKC, and won two closely contested games at home. Game 5, however, was anything but close. But it was everything the fans of Miami wanted.
It seemed too good to be true, to finally be delivered that LeBron James
championship, and for it to happen on a night where everything went
right, in front of the home fans. The game wasn’t in doubt for long, and it allowed Miami fans to really
enjoy the championship winning game. As Greg Popovich once said, NBA
finals games aren’t actually fun. They’re torture. You’re afraid to celebrate
too much and for too long, because you’re terrified it’s all going to go wrong
at any moment. This was that rare time where fans felt enough confidence to let
that fear go out the window. Even though this was as enjoyable a game as any
for Miami fans, it really was a game won by hot shooting from the role players
(mainly mike miller), and doesn’t have the replay value of other Heat games.
However, it’s certainly a time no Heat fan will forget.
The reasons
Mike Miller - 7/8 from three. Earned his paycheck and his place in Heat hearts on this one night alone.
